Jalapeño Margarita
· margarita, ice, salt-rimmed
juice of 1/2 lime
1 t. jalapeño (seeded & veined, small dice)
1 1/2 tequila
3/4 triple sec or Grand Marnier
2 margarita mix
Muddle juice and jalapeño. Add other ingredients; stir.
Some variations to note: The Grand Marnier version is for those who prefer to lean to the sweet. To make it slightly less hot (and less decorative), make the drink in a mixing glass and strain it into the margarita glass to serve. To make it more spicy, don’t seed the jalapeño. And for a different sort of additional flavor, try serrano peppers, which is a version I especially like.
